My first experience with Ferris Bueller was walking in in the middle of the "take a stand" speech. I decided I wasn't in the mood for heavy, overwrought teen drama, turned around, and walked out. Oh, and the ironic bit -- this was at my high school. They played "Ferris Bueller" in the auditorium during exam week for people who finished their finals early. Every single person in that room was there because they didn't fake an illness to get out of a test.

$25,000 from Barefoot Wine! That so ironic to me because that’s how much I’ve spent at the gas station on Barefoot Wine.

Loved this film, saw it at the opening weekend at the now sadly gone, Plaza Cinema in London's West End, during the twist and shout sequence, people got up and danced in the cinema.

Thank you thank you thank so much for this... this made my morning! As an 80s kid I probably quote scenes from John Hughes movies at least once a day. It goes right over my kid's heads but when someone actually laughs I know I found my people. As a dad I'm always fixing things around the house I have no business touching and I always end the job with "Never had one lesson".

I still remember being the only kid left in the theatre at the end if the credits in the aisle when Ferris tells me why are you still here. I tried to calling my brother to come back in the theatre but he missed. My greatest movie theater memory of all time. From that day on I always stay till the end and the lights come on. It didn't payoff much in the 90s but since Marvel success the Bueller tradition has paid out.

Ferris bueler was a lying punk bully hooligan, he had no redeeming qualities. Cameron was so much cooler.

I have always and still think that a sequel would be awesome. It would either be Ferris Bueller's Day Off; The Next Day or Ferris Bueller's Day off; High School Reunion. Thoughts?

Hello, Jeannie. Who's bothering you now? Ed Rooney : I'm very sorry, Mr. Peterson... Cameron : Call me sir! Goddamn it! Jeannie "Bite the big one, Junior." "her father's gun and a scorching case of herpes". This movie has so many iconic lines I could go on forever

I hope that the extended cut of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off gets released. Now more people know about it and hopefully the momentum encourages the people who have this footage (whether it be his family or the studio) to release it. I mean why continue to keep it locked away if there’s a growing desire to see it?

You'd think it'd be awkward for the Bueller parents Cindy Pickett and Lyman Ward as they were married and divorced in real life. I don't know what happened to their marriage but it's nice to see them being cordial after all these years.

In the early 2000s, TNT or TBS did an all day loop of the movie. It was kind of a big deal because it was aired uncensored on daytime TV. Anyway, the fun thing was, that night, they did a 5-10 minute "sequel" sketch. Mind you, it was just fun and it had none of the original cast. Two things that I remember: - Sloan and Ferris have like 5 kids and still live in his bedroom at his parents' house. - Mr Rooney escapes from an asylum and spends much of the sketch walking around town in a hospital gown carrying an assault rifle. I've looked for this sketch online and I've never even seen it mentioned. Please tell me I'm not the only one who remembers this.

Ferris Bueller was filmed at my high school, while school was in session. It was one of the most exciting moments in my life when John Hughes and Matthew Broderick came to check out our drama class rehearsing for a play. I'll never forget how kind and generous with their time they were.
